Release notes for version 1.7.0 of the UCSC 2022 theme.

Features

✨ Spacer block: set 4rem default height when inserted
📝 Patterns: remove redundant patterns and add two from www project work

Changes

🎨 Button block:
- remove extra button color palette
- Set proportion of buttons to match most recent design
🎨 Site header
- increase font-size and font weight of site title
- make main nav links blue
🎨 Global header
- add space between the global header and the site header
- smaller UCSC logo, decrease length of search box
- remove the waveform image from the background
🎨 Layout: set vertical rhythm and modular scale for font sizes and spacing units

Width and height matching previous design decisions

By default, a button will adjust to fit the text you put in it. We recommend you don’t set a specific width unless you need to. Fixed width buttons can lead to issues on smaller screens.

Pattern Library

Two new patterns are in the pattern library. Two other patterns were removed. Work continues to make the pattern library more intuitive and useful.
